I’ve found the easiest hack to stop nosy neighbours this summer – and it’s just £7.99 from Amazon

A WOMAN has revealed how you can stop pesky neighbours from peeping in to your home for just £7.99.

With temperatures soaring to unseasonable highs this week, many of us are likely to have our blinds and curtains wide open throughout the day, to let in as much light as possible.

However, there’s nothing worse than when your’re minding your own business in your own home, only to discover that a nosy neighbour is peeping through your window.

TikToker Hannah (@hannah.is.home) revealed how she prevents her neighbours from peering through the glass, for just £7.99.

Taking to the video sharing platform, the woman, who loves to share DIY tips, revealed that she purchased some removable window film from Amazon.

The clear film comes in a long roll, and you can cut it yourself, to suit the size and shape of your window.

Before applying the film, make sure to spray your glass panes with window cleaner and give them scrub, to make sure they’re squeaky clean.

Then, press the self-adhesive film on to the window, so that it obscures the inside of your home from view, whilst still allowing light to come inside the house.

“This removable window film is not only super easy to install and requires no tools but it looks great,” said Hannah.

“No more worrying about those nosy neighbours seeing inside your house when they come to your door.”

And if you need to peer out of the window yourself, you can easily remove the film and then reapply it.

“It easily comes off, and there’s no damage,” Hannah said.

Amazon has a whole host of window films on offer, including film in stylish patterns, to help jazz up your home.

From floral designs to kaleidoscopic patterns, the privacy films can make your home unique, whilst also helping you to feel safe and secure.

Homeowners have left hundreds of reviews under the Amazon listings, including the Rainbow Window Film Privacy Film for Glass Windows, priced at £7.99.

Sharing their love for the window film, one person said: “Excellent lightly stained plastic sheets.

How to create privacy in your garden

CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden:

1. Fencing

  • Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy.

2. Hedges and Plants

  • Fast-growing evergreen shrubs or trees like Leylandii, Thuja, or Bamboo along the boundary of your garden can help with privacy. Grow a dense hedge using plants like Boxwood, Privet, or Laurel. It may take time to grow, but it provides a natural and green privacy screen. Use climbers like Ivy, Clematis, or Wisteria on fences or trellises to create a lush, green privacy barrier.

3. Outdoor Curtains

  • Hang outdoor curtains around pergolas, gazebos, or patios for an easy-to-adjust privacy solution.

4. Sound Barriers

  • A water fountain or small waterfall can help drown out noise, adding to the sense of privacy. Or install fencing designed to reduce noise if privacy from sound is also a concern.

“I am very impressed with how this product goes up with ease, blocks unwanted nosy intrusions from others passing by and is far more beautiful than any photo show.

“The lightly stained glass patterns show up more when the sun shines on the window, it’s just wonderful.”

A second person raved: “I wanted this to stop my neighbour from being able to gawp in my bedroom window as I don’t always want to have to drop my blind.

“This film went on seamlessly. Not a bubble to be seen.

“The instructions are easy to understand and if you follow them you too should be able to get the film up without any issues.”

A third person added: “My life has been transformed after this privacy screen!

“I can move around more readily around the house without concern and when the sunlight shines it it gives a beautiful rainbow glow.”
