Community Foundation of Acadiana ending SOLA Giving Day
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Big things are happening at the Community Foundation of Acadiana. More specifically, the foundation is doing away with SOLA Giving Day as they celebrate 25 years of service in Acadiana and make plans to better help local nonprofit organizations.
CFA’s president and CEO, Missy Andrade, tells News 10 why the foundation is shifting gears and ending this highly anticipated fundraising blitz. Andrade also details the new affiliate grants process, which will take SOLA Giving Day’s place.
Nonprofits in Evangeline, Iberia, St. Landry, St. Mary and Vermilion parishes can apply online at CFAcadiana.org. Select organizations will then be contacted if they’ve been chosen to move forward in the application process. Grants will be between $2,000 and $5,000, depending on the parish.
Community Foundation of Acadiana is also gearing up for a celebration. To commemorate 25 years, they will host a luncheon on May 6 at Le Pavillon. THe public is invited to purchase tickets or tables at CFAcadiana.org. The luncheon will highlight what donors, nonprofits and community stakeholders can expect from the foundation moving forward.
The application deadline for grants is May 14, and the 25th Anniversary Luncheon is May 6.
