Liverpool will hold Premier League title parade on 26 May
Liverpool have confirmed that they will hold a Premier League title parade around the City on Monday 26 May.
The Reds wrapped up the title on Sunday after thrashing Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield.
Liverpool conceded a shocking early goal but that jolted them into action.
Luis Diaz quickly restored parity before Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo added two more before half-time to put them in control.
An own-goal from Destiny Udogie and Mohamed Salah’s strike in the second-half helped them claim an emphatic victory that secured their 20th top-flight title.
Liverpool could not celebrate their 19th league title in 2020 due to the pandemic, but they face no such restrictions this time and fans are expected to turn up in big numbers for a proper celebration of their success.
The leader of the Liverpool City Council, Councillor Liam Robinson, has formally invited the Reds to take part in a victory parade and the club have accepted the offer.
The parade will take place on 26 May, the day after their final match of the season against Crystal Palace.
The 15km victory route will start at Allerton Maze in the south of the city, then travel to Queens Drive and Mill Bank, and finally arrive at Blundell Street.
It is said that the parade could last between three and five hours.
Liverpool will return to action on Sunday when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
They will then play Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion before their final fixture with Palace.
