NYS extends paper timesheet deadline for CDPAP personal assistants
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The New York State Department of Health and PPL announced an extension of the paper timesheet deadline for CDPAP personal assistants on Friday. Personnel who are not able to log their time through PPL's systems can continue to use paper timesheets through May 17.
The original paper timesheet cutoff date was scheduled for April 26. According to Elizabeth Jois, the supervising attorney for the New York Legal Assistance Group and co-lead counsel in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of CDPAP consumers in late March, the extension comes amid "numerous known" and "unresolved" problems with PPL's Time4Cafe, PPL@Home and Telephony time-keeping programs.
"Without this extension of the blanket exception for paper timesheets, thousands of CDPAP consumers would have needed to submit individual exception requests starting this Sunday," Jois said on Friday. "This logical and necessary step will hopefully make it easier for the thousands of personal assistants who are still struggling to successfully use PPL’s time-keeping systems."
Personal assistants can find the paper timesheet online. Anyone who is able to accurately log their hours on Time4Care, PPL@Home or Telephony should continue to use those systems. Anyone with difficulties using the channels should call PPL at (833) 247-5346 or the Department of Health at (833) 947-8666.
If a personal assistant needs to use paper timesheets beyond the May 17 cutoff -- for religious reasons or for personnel in areas where Time4Care or Telephony is not reliable, for example -- they must request an individualized exception to continue usage. The exception request process and exception form can be found online. The form should be faxed to PPL at 1-844-244-4384 or mailed to Public Partnerships LLC PO Box 310, Binghamton, NY 13902 as soon as possible.
