Capital Region's biggest Greek festival to return in May
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Capital Region's largest Greek festival is returning in May. Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Albany will host its three-day celebration from May 16 to May 18.
Festival hours
- May 16: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- May 17: Noon to 10 p.m.
- May 18: Noon to 6 p.m.
Rain or shine, attendees can expect a variety of Greek cuisine, music, dance performances, and vendors. Some of the vendors will sell jewelry, artwork, and traditional crafts.
Festival-goers can enjoy a wide-ranging menu of food, including gyros, chicken and lamb Souvlaki, Greek coffee, Spanakopita, and more. Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church will also offer free church tours to showcase its history and traditions.
Admission is $5 per day, and children 12 years old and younger are admitted free of charge. Anyone looking to catch a ride to the festival can take a shuttle from the Center for Disability Services, located on South Manning Boulevard, to the church, located at 440 Whitehall Road.
