One of the best ways to get you in the mood for sunny days on holiday is by giving your wardrobe a refresh.

And River Island has the perfect summery buys to brighten your day.

The high street store, which the wife of boxing champ Tyson Fury recently did a collaboration with, is constantly wowing fans with its chic yet affordable designs.

And its latest launch of co-ords have not disappointed.

Sharing some of their favourite picks from the range, Instagram fashion account @welovethehighstreet said: “Wow, so many insane co-ords have arrived in River Island.

Amongst their favourite picks from the collection was the white floral cutwork shorts and cami top.

The shorts, which are priced at £29 are perfect for lazy days on the beach, whilst the £29 cami is sure to keep you cool whilst exploring in the sun.

The co-ord is available in a wide range of sizes, from six to 22 and can be picked up in store or online.

If white’s not your colour, then you can also snap up the Black Linen Blend Broderie Trousers for £42 and the matching patchwork shirt, which is also priced at £42.

The shirt is also available in cream, if you don’t fancy matching entirely.

And for those looking to add a bit more colour to their wardrobe, the £39 Red Short Sleeve Shell Print Shirt and matching £39 shorts are perfect for making you stand out from the crowd.

Fashion fans raced to the comments section of the video, to share their love for the River Island range.

One person said: “I love that pattern.”

A second person said: “So pretty.”

History of River Island

IT'S a well-known name on the high street, but did you know that River Island used to be called something completely different?

The fashion retailer actually started out as two separate clothing stores, which only joined forces to become the brand we now know and love in 1988.

The company behind it dates back to 1948, when British entrepreneur Bernard Lewis opened up his first clothes shop in Mare Street, Hackney, in east London.

At the age of 20, he’d launched his debut fruit and vegetable store on Holloway Road in north London, but his foray into fashion proved to be his biggest success.

After expanding to five stores, Bernard called his business Lewis Separates.

During the 1970’s he opened up a chain of clothing stores – 70, to be precise – which he later called Chelsea Girl.

It quickly became one of the UK’s first chain female fashion boutiques.

By 1982, Bernard introduced a further store, called Concept Man, to his portfolio, which offered a range of menswear.

Six years later in 1988, a third brand was formed – this one being called River Island.

A few years later, both Chelsea Girl and Concept Man merged into this one company, which is now run by Bernard’s nephew, Ben Lewis.

Die-hard River Island fans will know that in 2011, Chelsea Girl was re-introduced as a capsule collection within stores.

A third added: “Love, love, love.”

River Island shoppers have also been going wild about the store’s jewellery offerings lately.

Thanks to the latest high-street drop, shoppers can now get their hands on Cartier-inspired rings – and they’re available in three colours.

So whether you’re a gold girlie, prefer rose gold, or only wear silver, there’s something for you.

The gorgeous rings are just £14 – a whopping £3,986 cheaper than those from the luxury jeweller.
