Minivan hits, kills pedestrian in Tigard

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a minivan Saturday evening in Tigard, police said.
The crash near 10800 SW Gaarde Street happened around 7:15 p.m., officials said. The minivan was headed west on Gaarde when the pedestrian was hit.
Despite emergency responders' efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene. The person's name has not been released at this time.
The driver stayed at the scene. Authorities said the 48-year-old man is cooperating and the initial investigation shows the driver was neither speeding nor impaired.
