Andie MacDowell Reveals the Sweet Name Her Granddaughter Cozette ‘Adamantly’ Calls Her
Andie MacDowell is a proud grandma of two! She revealed the one grandma moniker she adores, and one she never, ever wants to hear.
Speaking with People for the 2025 World’s Most Beautiful issue alongside her daughter, Rainey Qualley, The Way Home actress revealed what her granddaughter calls her: Gaga.
“They came to stay with me, [Cozette] called me Gaga,” she said. “So, that’s fine with me. We’ll see how it all pans out if she continues to call me Gaga. But she couldn’t really say anything else, but she was adamantly calling me Gaga, so I was okay with that.”
Now, she has another granddaughter named Bluebell, but she’s less than six months old! So while she hasn’t said “gaga” or any other grandma moniker, MacDowell has one major rule.
She added, “Whatever they want to call me, they can call me. As long as they don’t call me granny. That’s the only thing I said, ‘Don’t call me granny. I’m sorry that one’s out.’”
For those who don’t know, MacDowell married Paul Qualley in 1986 (and later divorced in 1999); and welcomed three children named Justin, born on Aug 14, 1986, Rainey, born on March 11, 1989, and Margaret, born on Oct 23, 1994.
MacDowell has two grandchildren! Justin and his wife, Nicolette, welcomed a daughter named Cozette back in 2023.
Then, her daughter Rainey and her beau Anthony Wilson welcomed a daughter in Dec 2024. She shared info about her newborn on her Instagram with the caption reading, “On my due date, waiting for baby Blue ???? Bluebell Coyote Wilson. 6lbs 3oz. 20 inches long. all the love in the whole wide world.”
