Mostly dry, cooler weekend expected around Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Near-average temperatures return to the greater Portland, Vancouver area this weekend as a mix of sun and clouds moves through the region.
A mix of sun and clouds will keep temperatures mild along the Willamette Valley on Saturday. Afternoon highs will sit close to the average with highs in the low 70s on Saturday. Slightly cooler conditions return Sunday with temperatures sitting in the mid-60s. Sunday's cooler weather comes with a slight increase in cloud coverage.
Rain remains mostly absent across the northwest corner of Oregon and southwest Washington. Coastal spots could see close to a tenth of an inch by the end of the weekend. The lack of rain continues to grow Portland's rain deficit for the month of April.
Rain accumulation is expected to remain absent through much of next week. That's where a warming and drying trend begins to take shape once again.
Afternoon temperatures could be near almost 80 degrees for the second time this month. Sunny weather and above-average temperatures are expected to return. If Portland hits 80 degrees next week, that would be the fourth 80-degree temperature felt so far this year.
