Few showers possible Saturday as cooler temperatures stick around
What We’re Tracking
- Rain possible this weekend
- Warming up again
- Isolated storms Monday
Temperatures are starting off in the lower 50s and upper 40s northward this morning with light northerly breezes. Cloud cover continues to blanket the area as we see another cooler day in store.
Near-average temperatures continue for today with highs staying in the middle 60s. There is a chance for a few isolated showers or storms later in the afternoon, mainly south of I-70. These storms are expected to remain non-severe, with east winds around 10-15 mph.
By Sunday, temperatures rebound into the mid-70s. Scattered storms may develop in the afternoon, some of which could become strong. Winds become more southeasterly and pick up at 15-20 mph. As we hold on to strong southerly winds into Monday, overnight lows will remain mild, only falling into the mid-60s.
We’re keeping a close eye on Monday for the potential of severe storms. Highs will reach the lower 80s, and dew points will climb into the 60s by the afternoon, setting the environment for possible storm development. If storms do form, they’ll likely fire along the dryline and could bring all forms of severe weather: large hail, damaging winds, and even a possible tornado.
By Tuesday, we finally dry out and the sunshine will return. Our dry 'period' will be brief as we see more chances for rain midweek.
