New video shows deadly Logan County shooting
LOGAN COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — Newly-released body camera footage shows the moments two Logan County Deputies were shot in early April.
Logan County Sheriff Deputies Kayoomars Niroomandi and Captain Tom Kutay were responding to a domestic violence call in early April when they were hit by gunfire.
The alleged shooter was 45-year-old Jeremy Dean Barnett.
"Shots fired! I'm hit," said Kutay. "Where are you Niro? Where are you hit? You see him?"
Barnett began shooting at the two deputies after they tried speaking with a woman at the trailer.
They were told Barnett was hiding by the pool and when they began walking that direction, Barnett started shooting.
At one point, the deputies lose sight of Barnett.
"Do you have visual on him?," asked Kutay.
"I don't, do you guys?" replied Major Greg Randolph.
A third deputy, Major Greg Randolph, was taking cover behind trees managed to fire back hitting Barnett who then got away.
"He's still up moving," said Kutay. "He's down the ground. Still where you were at with the rifle."
Meanwhile an injured Captain Kutay began making a run for cover.
"Can you cover me? Come on man, get behind the car," said Kutay.
A short time later and after asking for help from McIntyre Law Chopper 4 to find Barnett, he was found dead.
The sheriff's office said they have responded to the home multiple times in the past for domestic related calls.
The two deputies shot are both doing okay and suffered minor injuries.
