Festival International forecast: Storms, humidity and heat; more heavy rain possible later today
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - It's been a much drier start to the day around Acadiana. Showers and thunderstorms will develop around lunchtime and become more widespread during the afternoon. A few storms could produce heavy rain that could lead to ponding on the roads. High temperatures reach the mid 80s.
For Festival International this evening, we will see quieter conditions as storms settle down. It will be sticky and humid with very little air movement. Temperatures will drop through the 70s.
Festival weekend remains dry with temperatures approaching 90 degrees during the afternoon hours. Remember to wear sunscreen! It will only take about 10 to 15 minutes of exposure before you begin to burn!
Rain is not expected, though an isolated shower each day will be possible. Next week, dry and hot weather continues until midweek where rain chances pick up once again.
