Lafayette man indicted in 2022 murder of toddler
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A Lafayette man has been indicted for murder and rape in the 2022 death of a toddler, authorities said.
Dillon Cormier, 32, of Lafayette, was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday in the 15th Judicial District Court of first degree murder, first degree rape and second degree cruelty to juveniles.
Cormier and his girlfriend, Deziree Suttoon, were arrested in 2022 after the death of a one-year-old boy, Suttoon's son, at their home on Willie Mae Lane in Lafayette.
The two had been charged with second degree murder.
Both the murder and rape charges can be punishable by death in Louisiana.
