Traffic to be reduced on I-70 in Topeka, here's why
TOPEKA (KSNT) - The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) announced that a $300,000 pavement marking project on I-70 in Topeka will impact traffic in the coming days.
Pavement marking work will start on Monday, April 28 and extend five miles from Valencia Road to Urish Road in Shawnee County. KDOT said traffic will be reduced to one lane while crews are working to stripe both sides of I-70. Ramp closures may occur as needed with message boards and signage put up to guide motorists.
Work will take place Monday through Friday during daylight hours, according to KDOT. Lanes will be open during non-working hours. The project is expected to be finished in May, weather permitting.
