VA event hosts safe location to dispose expired medicine
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The VA Oklahoma City Medical Center is set to host an event aimed at facilitating Veterans a safe location to dispose of expired medicine.
According to VA officials, the nationwide event has helped Veterans take unneeded medications that are old, unwanted, or expired for disposal at a Take Back Day event for free.
The event partners with local authorities, and has removed 19.2 million pounds (9,600 tons) of medication from circulation, says VA leaders.

*Collection sites will not accept syringes, sharps, and illicit drugs. Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container. The cap must be tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
