Phones, wallets and a Viking horn: Uber shares which items were left behind in 2025
(KTLA) – From mannequin heads to 175 hamburger sliders, Uber riders left behind a wide array of oddities in 2024, according to the company’s ninth-annual Lost & Found Index (you can see 2024's results in the video above).
The annual snapshot details both the most commonly forgotten things and the most unique items left in an Uber, including a Viking drinking horn, a live turtle, and even Ozempic.
“From wayward mannequin heads to live lobsters, Uber riders have left behind some truly unforgettable items this year,” Camiel Irving, vice president of operations and general manager of mobility for the U.S. and Canada, said in a statement. Whether essential or totally unusual, we understand how important it is to be reunited with your lost belongings. The Uber Lost & Found Index celebrates the most unique and commonly forgotten items, while reminding riders that getting support to retrieve their prized possessions is simple through the Uber app.
Common and unique Items left behind in Ubers
Phones, wallets and keys once again topped the list of most forgotten items, while red emerged as the most lost color, with more than 8,000 red items left behind.

- Headphones
- Glasses
- Clothing
- Passport
- Vape
- Water Bottle
A "Ghostbusters" ghost trap, a urinal, breast milk, and 10 live lobsters were among the top 50 unique items left behind after rides.
Luxury and legal items like divorce papers, court summons, a gold Rolex, Dior slides and Don Julio 1942 tequila were also frequently left behind.
New York City was named the most forgetful city, followed by Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. The most forgetful day was Oct. 26.

Other notable entries:
Over 70 Nintendo Switches were left behind last year.
Over 1.7 million Android and iPhone phones were left in Ubers. Apple dominated as the most frequently forgotten brand.
Items like yoga mats, Pilates socks and vitamin supplements were frequently misplaced.
Disney fans have often left behind their most treasured park merchandise, such as Minnie ears and Simba stuffed animals.
People also left behind food, such as a 5-gallon bucket of beans, 100 wings, crab legs, and 108 eggs.
Lost items that peak on certain days, according to the report.

- People are most likely to forget jackets on Tuesdays
- People are most likely to forget medicine on Wednesdays
- People are most likely to forget umbrellas on Thursdays and Fridays
- People are most likely to forget cowboy hats on Saturdays
- People are most likely to forget a debit card on Sundays
Regardless of what was lost, Uber reminds riders that they can report misplaced items to their driver via the Uber app.
