U-Haul offers 30 days free storage in Lafayette for residents affected by flooding
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Lafayette residents affected by recent flooding now have a resource to turn to while attempting to recover from the severe weather.
U-Haul Company of South-Central Louisiana is offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container usage at their two Lafayette stores to residents impacted by flash flooding that hit the area early Thursday morning.
After five to eight inches of rain fell on Lafayette, Broussard, Youngsville and surrounding cites, causing widespread road closures and potential water damage to many homes and businesses. U-Haul is offering residents access to dry and secure self-storage rooms and portable storage containers. These resources can be essential to communities recovering from a natural disaster.
The 30 days free offer applies to new self-storage and U-Box rentals and is based on availability. The U-Box portable container offer is for on-site storage at Company centers.
Residents seeking more information on the disaster relief program or needing to arrange storage services should contact their nearest participating U-Haul. The two participating U-Hauls are located at 700 Kaliste Saloom Road and 3700 Ambassador Caffery Parkway.
In addition to the disaster relief program, U-Haul is also at the forefront of aiding communities in times of need as an official American Red Cross Disaster Responder.
