Andy Cohen’s Son Ben Shares His Dream for the Future — & It’ll Leave You in a Puddle of Tears
Kids are silly and messy and often unhinged, but sometimes they surprise you with beautifully deep thoughts that’ll make your heart melt. Andy Cohen just shared a vulnerable moment he shared with his 6-year-old son Ben that shows how special his little heart is.
In an episode of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy this week, the 56-year-old revealed an emotional moment that happened while at Disney World for Spring Break. Cohen saw a teenager off by himself and he told his son, “That’s gonna be you. … One day you’re gonna be like, ‘Dude, I don’t want to hang out with you,’” Cohen recalled, per PEOPLE. “And he goes, ‘No, I’m not gonna do that.'”
Aww! I love it when my babies say stuff like that, about how they don’t ever want to move out because they love me too much. I know it’s not true, but it’s nice seeing how much they love me. Ben took it one step further, though. He had an idea of how he could always remain in his dad’s life — through time travel.
“And he goes, ‘You know, Daddy, when I’m 60’ — oh, I’m gonna cry — he goes, ‘I wanna take a pill so I can come back and be little like this so I can just be with you,” Cohen said. He added that he thinks his son is old enough to realize that Cohen won’t always be around. “I hate to end the show in tears, but … we had such a deep [talk] and had a long hug on the playground when he was, you know, thinking about that.”
BRB, have to go bawl my eyes out. The fact that he knows how special it is to be little and have his dad in his life and wants to be able to come back to this age at any time is incredible. How could you even respond to that kind of thing? He has the sweetest heart ever.
The Bravo TV host, who is also dad to daughter Lucy, who turns 3 this month, recently took his kids to Disney World with friend Anderson Cooper and his kids.
“It was the ultimate family vacation,” Cohen captioned a photo on Instagram of him and Cooper on the Tron Ride. “What a joy!” Cooper, who shares sons Wyatt, 4, and Sebastian, 3, with ex Benjamin Maisani, and Cohen also took their kids to meet characters. At one point, Lucy gave Daisy a hug, proving she’s moved on from not liking the cartoon character.
“They squashed the beef!!!!!” Cohen captioned the clip. “And if Lucy & Daisy Duck can figure things out, I think we can spread this vibe to the Bravoverse.”
Helping your kids move past grievances, bare their sweet souls, and make lifelong memories? It seems like Disney World truly is a magical place!
