Innocent bystander shot to death in the Bronx: sources
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, The Bronx (PIX11) – An innocent bystander was killed in a shooting in the Bronx on Wednesday, sources told PIX11 News.
It happened along University Avenue in University Heights around 5 p.m., according to authorities. Police said 28-year-old Marji Daoud, of Yonkers, was found with a gunshot wound to his head.
He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, according to authorities. Police said Daoud later died at the hospital.
Daoud was shot in the back of the head, sources said. A group appeared to have been shooting at another person when the victim was caught in the crossfire, according to sources.
Police said a 33-year-old woman was also shot in the left hip.
No arrests have been made and an investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
