Coxsackie firefighters host dodgeball tournament for local boy
COXSACKIE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The D.M. Hamilton Steamer Company #2 is hosting a dodgeball tournament fundraiser this Saturday at 9 a.m. to benefit a local boy. The “Dodge, Duck, Dip and Dive for Kaymen,” fundraiser will raise funds for Kaymen Hasbrouck, an 11-year-old boy with Down Syndrome who needs a specialized hearing device.
According to organizers, the young boy was born with Down Syndrome and has had years of issues with his ears. Recently, Kaymen has been diagnosed with severe hearing loss in his right ear and needs an implanted Osia implant.
The tournament will include teams of first responders, correction officers, law enforcement and local community members. There will be basket raffles, a 50/50, bake sale, and food.
The event will be held at the Coxsackie-Athens High School, 24 Sunset Boulevard in Coxsackie. Anyone who would like to register a team or donate for the raffles or bake sale may contact organizers by calling 518-545-9077.
