Japanese restaurant opening second location in Latham
LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Hana Japanese Steakhouse, located at 1620 Western Avenue in Guilderland, is getting ready to open its second location. The new restaurant will be located at 579 Troy Schenectady Road in Latham.
Owner Jay Gao first opened Hana in Guilderland in 2008. The restaurant's menu features soup, salad, sushi, stir-fry, noodle dishes, fried rice, hibachi dishes, and more.
"Over the years, especially after COVID, we’ve noticed a growing interest in unique dining experiences like hibachi shows," Gao told NEWS10. "More and more people are looking for something fun and memorable when they go out to eat. We've even had guests drive over an hour just to visit us, which has been really encouraging."
That's why they decided to expand to Latham, said Gao. They wanted to bring Hana closer to more people.
The Latham restaurant will be about 10,000 square-feet with a more modern look, have 16 hibachi tables and a full bar. The menu will be the same as in Guilderland, said Gao.
Gao said the Latham location will be opening around November. It'll have the same hours as the Guilderland location: Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
