Dollar Tree announces return of Marietta distribution center
MARIETTA, Okla. (KFOR) - Dollar Tree announced on Thursday the return of the distribution center in Marietta, Oklahoma after it was damaged by a tornado in April 2024.
The City of Marietta was impacted by a devastating EF-4 tornado that swept through the area last year, including the distribution center.
The center previously employed around 450, but it closed due to the damage. The building later caught on fire in August 2024.
Dollar Tree has announced that the distribution center will be returning to Marietta and is projected to open in spring 2027.
“We are thrilled to announce our return to Marietta,” said Mike Kindy, Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer, Dollar Tree, Inc. “This region and the Marietta community are critically important in our supply chain network and will be essential to our future growth. We’re proud of the role we’ve played in the greater Marietta community, and we hope to welcome back many associates, bringing the Dollar Tree spirit back to the area.”
According to Dollar Tree, the facility will be one million square-feet and is anticipated to return 400 jobs to the community.
“Dollar Tree returning means so much to us,” said Mayor Destry Rushing. “They have done so much for our community, extending their impact by supporting and uplifting the people of Marietta.”
Officials say the plans for the facility include technological advancements to improve efficiency.
“The reinvestment in the community is a testament to the importance of building strong local relationships and furthers our reputation as a business-friendly state.” said Governor Kevin Stitt.
