Innovate South hosts 'Tech Tank' Entrepreneurial Event
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Innovate South, Lafayette's premier entrepreneurial event, is happening this Thursday and Friday, April 24–25. It's a two-day experience full of networking events, keynotes, panels, and a pitch competition to bring together startups, technical professionals, and innovators from across South Louisiana.
Byron Leblanc, of Gulf South Angels, the largest angel investor network in the region.
He says, "In the early sessions, they will have keynote speakers and national speakers from around the country who have grown businesses or have businesses that you would probably recognize. They will be giving talks. They will have opportunity to network with people who may be investors who want to look and meet people ."
He's a judge for the "Shark Tank" like contest: Tech Tank South!
Five of Louisiana's most promising tech startups will compete for the title of 2025 Emerging Startup of the Year, along with over $20,000 in cash prizes.
The companies pitching are: GlowSens, Nestor, Blue Partner, Byline, and DealFlow.
He says, "It runs the gamut. I think there is one GloSens, which talks about developing a glow in the dark paint for highways and safety. It goes to another company, Nestor, which is an AI assistant for your office. So, it's the gamut. That's one of the things that is really interesting about startups."
Tickets start at just $15, and you can register at InnovateSouth.org.
