Menlo Park: Clark’s Oyster Bar makes its Northern California debut
Menlo Park has a new oyster bar serving up fresh seafood and American cuisine.
Look for oysters, yes, but also lobster rolls ($42), Dungeness crab ($34), shrimp toast ($25), Black Angus burgers ($26), and linguine with clams ($38). Oysters from British Columbia, Maine, Washington, California, Prince Edward Island and Massachusetts are also available at $4.50 each.
Set inside an old building that was once home to the longstanding diner Ann’s Coffee Shop and Menlo Bazaar, the interior by Lambert McGuire Design has been redone in a seaside-meets-midcentury style. Inside, you’ll find cozy booths, barstools, and tables, plus a 200-gallon saltwater aquarium and a seascape by Martinez-based artist Rob Moss Wilson.
The opening represents the chain’s first Bay Area location and second California one — the first opened last year in Montecito. It’s part of the Austin-based McGuire Moorman Hospitality Group’s growing restaurant collection; its other locations are in Austin, Aspen and Houston.
Details: Open 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily for lunch (weekdays) and brunch (weekends), 3-5 p.m. weekdays for happy hour, and 4-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 4-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday for dinner at 780 Santa Cruz Ave., Menlo Park. Reservations and walk-ins welcome; clarksoysterbar.com/locations/menlo-park.
