Demi Moore’s Description of Granddaughter Louetta’s Birth Has Us Feeling All the Girl Power
There are a whole lot of empowered women in Demi Moore’s life. And that number only grew when her daughter Rumer Willis — whom she shares with ex-husband Bruce Willis, along with daughters Scout and Tallulah — welcomed her daughter Louetta “Lou” in April 2023.
In a new cover interview with People, Moore got candid about that extra-special day, and what it meant to have all her daughters present for her granddaughter’s birth.
“It was really incredible,” she told the outlet, reminiscing on how Rumer was at Scout’s birth and the two were then at Tallulah’s birth. The fact that they were in the room when their sister(s) were born makes it all the more special that they were also in the room when Rumer gave birth at home.
“There was a moment when I thought, ‘Oh boy, I don’t know if she’s going to make it,'” Moore recalled, “like she has a different pain threshold than I do.”
“To just see her move into her own power and focus, it was a really extraordinary, beautiful moment,” she continued.
And that really does sound extraordinary. Watching your eldest daughter bring a baby girl into the world, despite all the pain, while you and your other daughters cheer her on must be a core memory that Moore will cherish for the rest of her life.
In January, while walking the red carpet for the 2025 Golden Globes, Moore had a proud grandma moment. The black-haired actress gushed to Entertainment Tonight about how little Lou calls her “Yaya,” the Greek word for grandmother.
And it turns out, being Yaya and Mom is what keeps her sane. “Ultimately, that is what’s most important because all of this without that would be not quite as rich or as sweet, but the balance of it is perfection,” she said ahead of the life-changing awards ceremony.
Moore went on to win Best Actress for her performance in The Substance, and her family’s real-time reaction was unbelievably moving. Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, and more loved ones had a casual viewing party at home, and when Moore’s name was called, everyone jumped for joy. (Literally.)
While little Lou looked confused and unfazed by her Yaya’s epic, first-time win, everyone else was cheering, clapping, and kissing. The footage still gives us goosebumps!
“SHE DID IT ????????????????????????????????????????,” Scout captioned the joint Instagram post before commenting, “???????????????????????? this is a huge win for EVERYONE.” And we have to imagine Scout and the rest of the Willis women felt the same way when they surrounded Rumer as she gave birth to the next generation of empowered Willis women.
