The Egg to host free arcade gaming, movie event in June
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Egg will turn into a giant arcade in June, with an afternoon of games, movies and music. The event, called "OPEN House," will be held on June 21.
OPEN House will feature several games, including classic arcade games, giant board games, air hockey, 16-player foosball and more. Rockers can also jam out on the multiplayer video game "Rock Band" on the Hart Theatre stage, complete with full lights and fog machines.
Additionally, attendees will be able to watch screenings of the films "Wreck-It Ralph" and the 1995 version of "Jumanji." Music will be provided by DJ2NDCH!LD, and the New York State Museum, New York State Library and New York State Archives will host booths featuring historical information about The Egg and the Empire State Plaza.
OPEN House marks one of the final shows in The Egg's Last Hurrah series, which leads up to the venue's temporary closure for renovations in July. Other Last Hurrah shows will include performances by Dionne Warwick, GIPSY KINGS and Marc Ribot's Ceramic Dog.
Attendees are encouraged to RSVP for OPEN House, which will run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is free but a $15 contribution is suggested. You can view The Egg's other Last Hurrah shows on the venue's website.
