Darren Harris Makes It Official: He’ll Be Back
Great news for Duke from a young and developing player
We weren't at liberty to confirm this, but during the season, we heard from an impeccable source that Darren Harris would absolutely be back. And now Harris has confirmed it: he’ll be back next season.
He didn't play a lot as a freshman, but he knew going in that he wouldn’t: with Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, Isaiah Evans, Tyrese Proctor, Caleb Foster and Sion James on the team, this was always going to be a learning season for Harris.
And he took advantage of that quite nicely because the Harris we saw later in the season was very different than the Harris we saw early.
The Harris we got in the fall was basically going to shoot threes and that was about it. The Harris we saw later was willing to drive and defended at a higher level. He didn’t get a whole lot of minutes, but his time is coming. And this is saying a lot on a team with Knueppel and Evans: he may have had the softest shot on the team this season. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can do in an expanded role.
