SAG Awards announce 2026 date and key deadlines

Mark your calendars! The 32nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are officially set to take place on March 1, 2026. The star-studded ceremony will stream live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, showcasing the year’s best performances in film and television.

In addition to the date, key deadlines for the 2025–26 SAG Awards season have been announced. Submissions for nomination consideration will open Aug. 25, 2025 and will close Nov. 3, 2025. Actors or their representatives can submit performances for consideration, with the eligible performance window running from Jan. 1, 2025, to Dec. 31, 2025.

Nominations for the 2026 SAG Awards will be revealed on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026.

The SAG Awards are routinely viewed as a key precursor in the Oscars race because the acting branch is the largest group in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Recent Best Picture winners that exerted strength in the race at the SAG Awards with ensemble cast wins include Parasite, CODA, and Everything Everywhere All at Once.

In 2025, the SAG Awards differed from the Oscars in three top categories. They honored Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown) as Best Actor, Demi Moore (The Substance) as Best Actress, and Conclave as Best Ensemble. The Academy chose Adrien Brody (The Brutalist) as Best Actor, Mikey Madison (Anora) as Best Actress, and Anora for Best Picture. Kieran Culkin (A Real Pain) and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Perez) swept both prizes for their supporting performances.
