2 NYC men arraigned on drug, weapon charges
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Two men from New York City were arraigned in Albany County Court Monday on drug and gun possession charges. According to the Albany County District Attorney's Office, both men pleaded not guilty.
On March 11 around 6:40 p.m., Albany police conducted a traffic stop near Grand Street and Madison Avenue for failing to signal. During the stop, police said Mahamadou Diambou, 22, of Brooklyn, and Micael Sedano, 21, of Bronx, were both in possession of crack cocaine and counterfeit bills. Two loaded .380 handguns were also found in the vehicle.
Both men were charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, one count of criminal possession of a forged instrument, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
On Monday, the two men were arraigned on an indictment charging both of them with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The two were remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility and face up to 15 years in prison if convicted. Assistant District Attorney Marissa Olsen is prosecuting the case.
