'Wicked' Stars Cynthia Erivo & Ariana Grande Could Get Emmy Nominations in Same Category This Year

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were both nominated for Oscars this year for their work in the movie Wicked and now they have the chance of being nominated in the same category at the Emmys!

The Wicked co-stars will be preparing to kick off their Wicked: For Good press tour when the Emmys happen later this year and there’s a good chance we’ll see them both at the event.

Cynthia and Ariana are both expected to receive nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2025 Emmy Awards.

Cynthia will be eligible for her guest appearance on the Peacock series Poker Face while Ariana is eligible for her guest hosting gig on Saturday Night Live.

Variety predicts that they will both receive nominations. Other predicted nominees currently include Jamie Lee Curtis for The Bear, Melissa McCarthy for Only Murders in the Building, Julianne Nicholson for Hacks, and Sarah Polley for The Studio.

Cynthia received a Daytime Emmy Award in 2017 for Outstanding On-Camera Musical Performance in a Daytime Program, a category that no longer exists. She received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2021 for the limited series Genius.

This will mark Ariana‘s first Emmy nomination if she lands the nom!
