Two people shot in the head in Rayne, drive to police station
RAYNE, La. (KLFY) -- Two people were shot in the head in Rayne Sunday evening but managed to drive themselves to a police station, authorities said.
Rayne Police said they responded at 7:37 p.m. Sunday to a shooting in the 900 block of Lyman Avenue.
Following the incident, the two victims, an 18-year-old white female and a 28-year-old black male, drove away in a private vehicle and arrived at the Rayne Police Department seeking help.
After first aid was given, the victims were transported to a Lafayette hospital for further treatment. Both had sustained gunshot wounds to the head, but are in stable condition, officials said.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Rayne Police Department.
