Iberia Parish homicide suspect arrested after brief foot chase
IBERIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A man was arrested today for allegedly shooting a man in Iberia Parish in March.
Today, around 11:40 a.m. officials said they arrested Reginald Peters Jr., 25, in connection to the shooting, after spotting Peters at a store in the 800 block of East Dale Street where Peters fled on foot and was later apprehended after a brief foot chase.
Officials said on March 22, just before 10:45 p.m., they were called to the area of South LaSalle Street for a shooting. When they arrived, officials found a man fatally shot multiple times, laying in the roadway in the 700 block of South LaSalle Street.
During the investigation in the shooting, officials said they were able to positively identify Peters as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest on April 17.
Peters will be sent to an Iberia Parish jail on the charges of second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
There is currently no information on Peters' bond.
