Paulina Porizkova’s White Bikini Photo Is About Her ‘Trying to Accept’ This Change in Her 60s
Paulina Porizkova‘s new decade is all about acceptance and self-love; and her newest bikini photo proves her 60s are her most confident decade yet. In case you missed it, on April 16, Porizkova shared a gorgeous snapshot of herself on her Instagram, showing how she’s embracing the swinging, stunning 60s.
“What I’ve gained leading up to 60… Well, ten extra pounds. I could agonize over it. Instead I’m trying to accept. Building muscle, staying healthy, and saying goodbye to parts of my wardrobe that’s been with me for 40 years,” she started the caption, talking about the other things she has like a “distaste” for men who speak poorly of their exes, an “appreciation” for her loyal pals, and “An acceptance of what makes me ME: Both good and bad.”
She added, “A determination to keep doing better. As a person, a woman, a friend, a lover, a mother. An understanding that my imperfections do not make me repulsive, crazy or needy; they DO NOT make me unworthy of love. They just keep me real. A partner that is in every way my equal. An ability in trusting myself to make a good choice – for myself…”
She finished by saying, “And most importantly- something I lost and found again, making it even more precious- HOPE. Stay tuned for what I will gain leading up to 70.(It’ll only take 10years????).”
Not only do we adore this white bikini snapshot, which showcases her unfiltered, glowing skin and body, but we also love the messages she shares behind it.
In fact, for her 60th birthday earlier this month, she shared a blue bikini selfie with the caption reading, “Reached level 60 today! Grateful, inspired, full of joy and waaaay too busy enjoying it all to post more – for now. And THANK ALL OF YOU FOR THE BEST WISHES- I APPRECIATE THEM AND YOU SO MUCH! Back next week to share all the fun- but for now, I’m living it.”
And before this, on Jan 7, Porizkova posted a video to her Instagram, detailing her journey of accepting her body after weight gain amid menopause; something she has discussed now as she talks about her 60s.
She started the caption by saying, “I gained about 15lb after my bilateral hip replacement in early 2024. The funny thing is, I was so happy with my life ; the end of chronic pain, building a life with my love, traveling with friends and working on new writing projects – that I had no idea I had gained all this weight until I went to Paris for my first modeling job of the year. Which was in September. One day back at my old job, and I was excruciatingly aware of every extra pound. I didn’t fit the clothes. Which of course WAS and IS my job. To fit the clothes!”
She ended the heartfelt caption by saying, “And yet, I don’t exactly mind this new, fuller body. Compared to a year ago when I was 15 lbs less but in constant pain, my new softness feels soothing. And thanks to my love @sjeffgreenstein my body also feels at the height of its sexiness, desirability and ok, I’ll say it – prowess. So, really , my only problems are no jobs and nothing to wear. ????”
So her 60s are all about embracing her changing body and her thriving mindset. And yes, we’re obsessed!
Now, this is not the first, nor will it be the last, time Porizkova has reminded people that life does get better with age; and how it’s important to stay in shape to be able to do so many things.
“Staying in shape takes much more time and effort, but it allows me to fully inhabit this shell I was given at birth, something I took for granted most of my life. But not anymore. Now it’s a deliberate decision to allow it to work as best as it can, being grateful for its ability to move me through the world to keep harvesting the beauty of it all. Pain included,” she told SheKnows in April 2023.
