So it’s only natural you’re going to want to splash the cash, right? Which is why owning a swish sports car collection to make even the likes of Formula 1‘s Lewis Hamilton jealous seems top of every football star’s agenda.
Motors are a great investment, and of course when you’re earning up to £500,000 per week (ahem, Erling Haaland) you don’t want to be turning up to training to sign autographs in any old banger.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Aidan Rushby, founder and CEO of digital car finance lender Carmoola, says: “For young players suddenly earning six-figure weekly wages, high-performance cars offer a tangible way to celebrate success and show individuality.
“Pulling up to training in something eye-catching is part of the game – it’s like fashion on four wheels.”
But while many of us think of top manufacturer Land Rover as footballers’ car make of choice, with multiple players including Harry Maguire, Declan Rice and Jack Grealish opting for a Range Rover Sport, there are other emerging makes and models which are proving to be increasingly-sought after.
Aidan adds: “While Range Rovers have been a mainstay for years thanks to their comfort and versatility, we’re seeing a real shift toward luxury-performance SUVs like the Lamborghini Urus and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
“They combine presence, power, and practicality, which suits players’ lifestyles.
“The Urus in particular is hugely popular – owned by Jack Grealish, Cole Palmer, and Gabriel Martinelli.
“At the end of the day, these purchases are emotional.
“Whether it’s the growl of the engine, the badge on the bonnet, or the chance to turn heads, luxury cars continue to be a go-to indulgence for footballers at the top of their game.”

Erling Haaland – £4m Bugatti supercar
Man City star Erling Haaland, 24, has collected a fleet of astonishing motors over the years, and since signing a new 10-year deal worth £200m, he’s really splashed out.
Just last month, he ordered a Bugatti Tourbillon, costing a staggering £4m.
Its 1,800 horsepower petrol and electric hybrid V16 engine catapults the sleek supercar up to 124mph in five seconds, and the motor – which features iconic “butterfly” doors – has a top speed of 277mph.
Since his pay rise, the ace has also been seen driving into City’s training ground in a stunning orange Porsche 911 GT3 worth around £160,000, and an Aston Martin DBX 707 that carries a price tag of £350,000.
However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to his vast collection, which also boasts a £120k Range Rover Sport, F1-grade supercar the Mercedes AMG One, worth £2.7m, and a £300k Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Son Heung-Min – £1.2m Ferrari
Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min, 32, boasts one of only 499 of Ferrari’s La Ferrari sports car in the world, worth a cool £1.2m.
Understandably, however he ditched the usual red for a black version – because he obviously couldn’t be seen driving a car in the team colours of their rivals, Arsenal.

Aidan Rushby
It is the most powerful street-legal supercar the Italian manufacturer has produced, and Son’s black model does 0-60mph in 2.9 secs, with a top speed of 227mph.
He’s also been spotted driving other sought-after models over the years, from a £112k white Audi R8 Coupe to a £60k Maserati Levante, a £160k Bentley Continental GT and of course, the all-important Range Rover – which he opted to get in a matte black finish.
Marcus Rashford – £700k Rolls Royce
He may have received a six-month driving ban last year, but that’s not to say Man United‘s Marcus Rashford, 27, ditched his passion for motors.
He got round the problem by buying a £200,000 Bentley to be chauffeured around in.
The football forward, who owns a fleet of Rolls Royce motors worth around £2.5million and one of the most impressive car collections around, splashed the cash on the new Flying Spur Azure.
He also owns a Rolls Royce Cullinan Blue Shadow, worth £560k – a bespoke limited edition motor, and one of only 62 made, as well as a £390k Black Badge Cullinan and a £700k Black Badge Wraith.
He also boasts a McLaren 765 Long Tail worth £280k, and the Lamborghini Urus Performante – seemingly the footballer’s top choice right now.

Anthony Gordon – £320k Call of Duty Hummer
Car enthusiasts were very excited when Newcastle‘s Anthony Gordon, 24, was seen leaving the club’s training ground in a brand-new GMC Hummer EV, which features in the Call of Duty video game.
The £320k vehicle has gathered plenty of attention due to its size, and it’s the first of its kind to arrive in the UK after being made in the US.
Despite its colossal bulk, weighing a staggering 4,500 kilograms, it still has plenty of horsepower, which can get it from 0-60 in just three seconds.
It’s certainly not a subtle motor – and not everyone is a fan, with some on social media commenting it looked like a ‘Lego brick’.
Jack Grealish – £210k custom Lamborghini
With an estimated net worth of £20 million, it’s not surprising that Man City football star Jack Grealish, 29, has a garage full of luxury cars.
The star splashed out £210k on a custom-wrapped Lamborghini Urus in his team colours after winning the treble.
The Urus SUV has a V8 twin-turbocharged engine producing around 650bhp, while 0-62mph is taken care of in just 3.1 seconds.
Grealish also has the ‘footballer trademark’ vehicle – the £80k Land Rover Sport in his collection – and a £44k Mercedes C-Class, which is one of the more unassuming cars in Jack’s garage.
Last year he was spotted being driven to training in a brand new £200k white Aston Martin DBX too.
Bukayo Saka – £190k Mercedes classic
He earns around £300k a week, so of course Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is going to have a flash car or two.
Costing up to £190,000, the prestige Mercedes AMG G63 SUV is one of the Premier League’s most popular motors, and one Saka owns.
It comes with a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V-8 engine, and different models go 0-62 mph from 4.5 seconds to 6.4 seconds.
The Arsenal forward also has the Ferrari 458 Spider in his collection, valued at £151,736, which can go 0-62 mph in 3.3 seconds, and boasts a top speed of 199 mph.
Not bad, especially for a 23-year-old.
Cole Palmer – £190k Lamborghini
He’s just 22, but Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer has already built up a very impressive portfolio of motors.
He is also the proud owner of a £190k Lamborghini Urus – the staple motor for any Premier League footballer.
There once was a huge waiting list for the Urus, but top class athletes have seemingly jumped the queue.
He also has a £30k Mercedes A-Class, which he treated himself to when he scored his first big contract at Man City, and a BMW i4, costing in the region of £70k.
