Love Island fans say Whitney ‘jinxed’ relationship with Lochan as old post about her co-stars resurfaces amid split
LOVE Island fans have said that Whitney jinxed her relationship with Lochan now the pair have split.
The couple confirmed on Friday night that they had called time on their relationship after meeting two years ago.
Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki met on Love Island in 2023, with the pair placing as runners up and embarking on a rocky love story.
Just mere weeks ago the pair seemed all loved up when Whitney shared a sweet video to mark her now-ex-boyfriend’s birthday.
They also seemed stronger than ever when Whitney shared a video on TikTok revealing why she and Lochan were still together and other couples were not.
Taking to the video-sharing platform, Whitney shared a video where she penned a message over the top of it.
“POV: Most Love Island couples live with their partner and you decided to move our by yourself,” she wrote.
The video was shared on February 25, and captioned with: “Never fell victim of proving my love onlineee.”
And now, in the wake of Whitney’s split from Lochan, fans have reshared the video and now claim that she “jinxed” their relationship.
Sharing the TikTok video in a Love Island Reddit forum, the user penned: “She jinxed it!
“And ppl in the comments of her Tiktok at the time were saying ‘thats why you two are going to last’. Anyway, good luck to both of them!”
Someone then commented: “Never fell victim of proving my love online – she should’ve gloated less tbh.
“Nevertheless, these islanders can’t win. if they’re ‘private’ and don’t post each other much, they get accused of never spending time together, so they must be faking it.
“If they post each other a lot, then it must be a showmance and they’re just using each other for engagement lmao.”
While another penned: “People need to stop making rules about this couples bc real life relationships doesn’t have rules… same of them work and some don’t simple like that.”
Earlier this week before the news of the couple’s split broke, fans were left convinced Whitney was suggesting someone had been unfaithful with a shady TikTok about cheating.

Beauty mogul Whitney entered the villa on Day 3, and experienced highs and lows on the hit ITV2 reality show, stealing contestant Andre Furtado, 22, the same day she entered into the villa.
She coupled up with Mehdi Edno, 26, on Day 5, and in a surprising turn of events, she took personal trainer Zachariah Noble, 26, out on a date but their chemistry would soon fizzle out.
Her luck changed in Week 5, when Windsor-born Lochan entered Cara Amor on Day 26. On Day 31, Whitney chose to couple up with Lochan.
The show favourites lost out on the winning spot to Jess Harding, 23, and Sammy Root, 23 on the show finale on Day 58.
She recently told how the pair were planning to move in together.
Yet in July 2024, eyebrows were raised after the pair unfollowed each other on social media then attended an event together – leaving some fans calling out a “publicity stunt.”
“I wish I could tell you there was someone else, something that would make it easier to understand.
“Maybe it was just one of those heartbreaking moments of ‘right person, wrong time’.
“I’m strong, but for the first time in a long time I can admit that I’m broken. I thought I had everything figured out, the future seemed so certain,” the TikTok said.
Whitney also revealed she’s moved into a new apartment, adding: “Now I’m 27, standing at a crossroads and questioning everything that I thought I knew.
“So many memories, so many plans, so many ‘I love yous’ that had their last day – I just didn’t know it.
“Now I’m here in my new apartment, surrounded by the quiet echoes of him.”
But despite all of this, when Lochan celebrated his birthday just last month, Whitney shared a gushing tribute.
“First the first time in 27 years, I can honestly say I’m in a happy, loving relationship,” Whitney said over the top of a video.
Whitney and Lochan came runners-up during the Love Island 2023 final, just losing out to Jess Harding and Sammy Root.
