Fonda man arrested on weapon, menacing charges
FONDA, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Fonda man is accused of chasing a man with a shotgun throughout the village. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Tyler Jackson, 21, faces multiple charges.
On Sunday, April 13, deputies responded to Center Street for reports of a male allegedly being chased by another person with a gun. Upon canvassing and investigating, deputies were able to locate the person who reported the incident happened near West Main Street in which the suspect exited a car with a shotgun and pointed it at the victim.
Deputies said an investigation into the incident determined Jackson was the suspect. Deputies, with the assistance of the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, said Jackson and the alleged vehicle were found in Johnstown, where he was arrested without incident. Jackson was then turned over to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
Jackson was charged with:
- Criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree, a class D felony
- Criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree, a class A misdemeanor
- Menacing in the first degree, a class E felony
- Menacing in the second-degree, a class A misdemeanor
- Reckless Endangerment in the second-degree, a class A misdemeanor
Jackson was arraigned in the Town of Mohawk Court. He was released on his own recognizance and issues a reappearance date.
