Inside the trendy UK hotel named after a famous cartoon comic book with VIP lounges and themed suites
HOTEL Gotham is a grand sight from outside, which is currently undergoing a restoration project.
But head inside to find trendy noir-style vibes with some amazing city views from the top floor – here’s everything you need to know about what to eat at the restaurant and how much rooms cost.
Where is the hotel?
Based in central Manchester in Gotham City, this hotel is in a great location for exploring.
It is housed in a grand listed building in the upmarket shopping area of King Street, only an 8-minute drive from Manchester Piccadilly Station.
What is the hotel like?
Hotel Gotham reflects the Art Deco style of the 1920s Gotham City from Batman with dramatic fixtures, lavish decor with geometric patterns and employees in 1920s-themed uniforms.
Along with a 24-hour front desk, there are also concierge services and luggage services.
What are the rooms like?
The 60 rooms are spread over five floors and split into four categories: Cosy Club, Club, Executive and Director.
Each features polished wooden furniture and dark leather headboards. The rooms start from £130 per night. Book here.
We were upgraded from an executive room to the Lutyens Suite, which features a copper roll-top bath in the middle of the room.
Other suites include the Gotham Suite, Inner Sanctum Suite and Bank Managers Suite, which have been compared to both the Great Gatsby and Grand Budapest Hotel.

What is there to eat and drink there?
The food is served with a view from the top floor of the hotel through huge beautiful windows.
There is an excellent selection of British fare is offered on the menu at the hotel’s Honey restaurant on the top floor, which is 2 AA Rosette awarded
But most notably is the large offering of steaks cooked to perfection that I can vouch for considering my 10oz ribeye was incredible.
Otherwise head to Club Brass, a VIP lounge only open to members and guests which is a Prohibition-style speakeasy.
Make sure to try the super sweet Bellboy Barry’s Bramble.
What else is there to do at the hotel?
Immerse yourself in the 1920/30s speakeasy bars and jazz experience in the underground exclusive space called GILT.
Or treat yourself to the Summer Indulgence package (from £49) offering a 5-course tasting menu and a complimentary glass of prosecco.
Just don’t expect an on-site gym – you’re here for some luxury after all.
Is the hotel family-friendly?
No, the minimum age to check into the hotel is 18, although children are permitted inside under supervision.
Small pets are allowed on request although guests have to contact the hotel for prices.
Is there access for guests with disabilities?
Yes, there are two accessible rooms on the first floor for wheelchair users, as well as a lift in the hotel although it does not go to the bar on the seventh floor.
