Roads reopen near busy southeast Topeka intersection, business reacts
TOPEKA (KSNT) - The cones are clear near a major southeast Topeka intersection, after months of several construction projects.
Roads near Southeast 29th Street and Southeast California Avenue fully reopened to the public Thursday morning. The area has been under multiple construction projects for the past several months.
One business in the area told 27 News Thursday, they are glad to see the stretch of roads repaved and have noticed an influx in customers.
"We would just ask those in the community to continue to support us," God's Storehouse Store Manager, David Crook said. "We have seen a lot more people coming in through our doors and it's been a great time and everyone has noticed, hey, the roads are open, like, let's go to God's Storehouse."
City workers closed part of Southeast 29th Street in October last year for work on crossroad storm pipes, sanitary and water work, requiring a lengthy detour around the project.
