To the editor: Medicaid gave me a hand up: Now 700,000 Ohioans risk losing theirs

I am a proud alumna of AmeriCorps. In 2018 and 2019, I served over 1,700 hours to encourage Cleveland youth to pursue health careers. This program paid for me to become a licensed Community Health Worker, or CHW. Despite a modest stipend from AmeriCorps and another part-time sales job, the only way I could afford health care was through Medicaid.
