Candlelight vigil and balloon release held to honor New Iberia shooting victim
NEW IBERIA, La (KLFY) -- A candlelight vigil and balloon release is being held to honor the life of Rylon Daniels.
Rylon Daniels was the 14 year old victim who was killed in a shooting at the New Iberia Spanish Festival last weekend.
Officials said a 15-year-old was arrested in connection to the shooting and booked into a juvenile facility on charges of second-degree murder, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, and illegal use of weapons.
Daniels’ loved ones say they will always remember him for his kindness and infectious laugh. They said he did not deserve to have his life taken away.
The ceremony will be held in downtown New Iberia at 5 p.m.
