Bunny-approved Easter weekend forecast in Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After a stretch of glorious sunshine and unseasonably warm weather in Portland, our weather pattern is expected to change over the upcoming holiday weekend.
While cooler air and the chance for showers arrive, don't cancel any Easter plans just yet! There will still be plenty of dry and mild moments this weekend to celebrate and enjoy getting outside.
Our weather pattern will shift this weekend as a series of weak frontal systems drop into the Pacific Northwest. Our daytime highs will go from the mid-70s on Friday to the upper 50s to low 60s Saturday through Monday.
Thankfully, significant precipitation is not expected over the weekend in this pattern. Most models showcase a few hundredths to a tenth of an inch of rain in total between Saturday and Sunday. That spells out light and spotty showers at times, not a full washout or "soggy" conditions.
The first round of showers may come briefly during the morning hours on Saturday, followed by a drier and partly sunny afternoon. Right now, forecasts show Sunday morning on the drier side with a few light and spotty showers returning by the afternoon.
In all, the weekend still looks "bunny-approved" with more dry than wet conditions as showers remain light in variety. Do plan for a few showers over Easter Sunday, especially heading into the afternoon.
We'll keep our eyes on the forecast for any major changes over Easter weekend. Looks like we're back to a dry and mild trend by the middle of next week in Portland.
