BARGAIN-loving Brits are in for a treat this Easter bank holiday – as new figures reveal the UK cities where you can still grab a pint for as little as £2.63.

As costs continue to rise, these pub-friendly spots are keeping things refreshingly affordable for punters looking to toast the long weekend without breaking the bank[/caption]

The research, carried out by QR Code Generator, compared average pint prices at Wetherspoons across the UK – analysing popular pours like Carling, Stella, Guinness and Corona Extra to find the most budget-friendly cities for a bank holiday session.

Newport has been crowned the cheapest city in the UK for a pint, with the average cost coming in at just £3.12 – and a frosty Coors setting punters back just £2.63.

Wales is well and truly winning, with four cities in the top 10 cheapest spots, including Bangor, Swansea and Wrexham.

From £2.63 for a pint of Carling or a Coors, £3.30 for Guinness and £3.75 for a pint of Stella Artois on average in the city’s Wetherspoons, the average cost of a pint in Bangor was found to be just £3.14.

Sunderland bagged the top spot for England, with Guinness lovers in luck – a pint costs just £2.78 in some pubs.

Coming in fourth on the list is Swansea, where punters can enjoy a pint for an average of £3.30.

And even the pricier Corona Extra will only set you back £3.92 across the city’s four Wetherspoons.

Preston nabs fifth place, where a round won’t break the bank – with the average cost just £3.33, and some beers going for as low as £2.63.

Nottingham matches Preston with the same £3.33 average, while Wrexham and Stoke-on-Trent follow closely behind at £3.37.

Rounding off the top ten are Wolverhampton and Bradford, where the average pint will cost you just £3.52.

Marc Porcar, CEO of QR Code Generator PRO S.L commented: “Our analysis offers a handy guide for those looking to make the most of their time off, enjoying time out with family and friends, but without stretching their budget

“While the locations on the list may not be the first that come to mind when planning a night out, compared to metropolitan hubs such as Manchester or London, cities ranking on the list, like Newport, Preston or Nottingham, offer affordable nights out without the hefty hit to your bank account.

“The results offer a reminder that great value can be found beyond the usual go-to spots, without sacrificing a good time.

“Plus, as the days are getting longer and spring is finally upon us, it could be a great time to explore new parts of the UK and be social, all with the bonus of being budget friendly.”
