Sewer repairs scheduled to begin Monday in Glens Falls
GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The Glens Falls Water and Sewer Department will begin replacing the sanitary sewer on Maple Street starting Monday. A portion of the road, starting at 133 Maple Street, will be closed for approximately two weeks, the department said.
The road will be closed to all traffic, excluding local residences, from Pearl Street to Cherry Street from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the two weeks.
According to the city, while the repairs are happening, some residents may smell an odor coming from drains. City officials say the odor may occur in homes or buildings with dry or non-existent traps, and can be minimized by pouring gallons of hot water into plumbing fixtures and basement floor drains.
Residents can also open windows or doors in their house to ventilate the smell. The department said anyone with questions or concerns, can reach out to them at 518-761-3850.
