These 2 NYC neighborhoods named hottest in the country
NEW YORK (PIX11) --- Two popular New York City areas have been named the hottest neighborhoods in the country.
Prospect Heights and Clinton Hill were tied at the top of Redfin’s list of Hottest Neighborhoods of 2025, according to the real estate company. Staten Island's Great Kills came in sixth on the top 10 list.
The Brooklyn communities saw more than a 100% spike in home sales compared to last year. Properties in both neighborhoods were going for close to $1.4 million, according to Redfin.
Their easy access to Manhattan, Prospect Park and popular restaurants is appealing to international buyers as well, according to the article.
“Whenever I have a listing in Prospect Heights or Clinton Hill, I expect at least one call from a serious buyer overseas,” said a Redfin agent, adding that many local and international buyers pay with cash. “Given the prices, and the wealth required to buy into these neighborhoods, clients are less concerned about high mortgage rates.”
Great Kills is on the South Shore of Staten Island, close to the marina, parks, nightlife, and dining. The average house was selling for $700,000 in the area.
“Buyers need to come in hot in Great Kills,” an agent said. “Competition is fierce, with many homes going above list price to buyers with significant down payments."
