Water conservation advisory lifted in East Greenbush, Rensselaer
EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Officials announced that the water conservation advisory issued on April 4 for East Greenbush and Rensselaer has been lifted. Both municipalities have maintained water tank levels at a sustainable threshold.
The advisory stemmed from necessary repairs being made to a blown valve at the Cross Street Pump Station, which compromised water output. The station is located in Troy but is managed and operated by Rensselaer and East Greenbush.
Rensselaer residents were able to return to normal water usage on April 10, while East Greenbush's notice was not rescinded until Tuesday afternoon. Neither area needed to issue a boil water notice during the maintenance operation.
East Greenbush town officials stated that water levels will continued to be monitored daily while further maintenance at the pump station remains underway. Anyone with questions or concerns about their water service can call the East Greenbush Department of Public Works at (518)477-6103 or the Rensselaer Public Works Department at (518)462-9617.
