Why Growing Giants Draft Rumor Matters For Patriots Plans
The New England Patriots have just over a week before they go on the clock with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
That pick will have plenty to do with what happens in front of them. The Patriots should love to see quarterbacks go off the board since New England already has its franchise player with Drake Maye. The roster needs more talent, even after a solid run in free agency, for Mike Vrabel’s first season at the helm. Whether it’s a left tackle or the best available player, the Patriots have a decision to make.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport shared an intriguing update Tuesday that could help New England as the New York Giants have a private meeting later this week with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. Even if Sanders isn’t available at No. 6 overall, Rapoport noted the Giants could trade back into the first round for a later look at the quarterback board. If New York goes quarterback, along with the Tennessee Titans, the Patriots could have a path to a defensive star such as Abdul Carter.
“At least they’re doing their full homework on all of the top quarterbacks, including workouts for Tyler Shough and Jalen Milroe this week as well,” Rapoport shared on “Path To The Draft” Tuesday.
The 2025 NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 24 in Green Bay.
