'I would love to do that': Trump doubles down on sending US citizens to foreign prisons
President Donald Trump doubled down and said he "would love" to send U.S. citizens to foreign prisons even after experts said it could run afoul of the Constitution.
Trump made his latest remarks about his desire to imprison citizens in international facilities on Thursday on Fox News.
"Could we use it for violent criminals, our own violent criminals?" host Rachel Campos-Duffy asked.
"I call them homegrown criminals," Trump explained. "The ones that grew up, and something went wrong, and they hit people over the head with a baseball bat."
"We are looking into it, and we want to do it," he added. "I would love to do that."

Fox News host Sandra Smith asked Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) if he supported Trump's proposal.
"You mean sending them to foreign countries?" the senator replied. "No, I don't agree with that."
