Vans’ Stable of Classic Sneakers Is Now Available to Wear in ‘Fortnite’
Vans has become the latest footwear brand to enter the “Fortnite” universe, following Nike and Adidas in making its sneakers available as wearable cosmetics for a player’s character.
The Vans Old Skool Premium in “Crystal Blue” from its February Music Collection is now available in-game, as are the more evergreen black-and-white checkerboard Slip-On, red Authentic and navy blue Sk8-Hi sneakers. Players can purchase the Kicks cosmetics from now through Tuesday, April 22, by using in-game currency.
“Fornite” broadened its cosmetics offering in November by launching Kicks for players to choose their characters’ footwear. Nike and Jordan Brand have added classic models including the Air Jordan 1, Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 11, Air Foamposite and Cortez. Adidas also made a quartet of collaborative sneakers for both the video game and real-life wear that released in March.
The Nike umbrella’s relationship with Fortnite goes back even further than the launch of Kicks cosmetics, as it’s partnered on full outfits for the video game that include its sneakers since 2019. Its shoes also appeared through the rendering of Travis Scott for an in-game event tied to the rapper’s “Fortnite” collaboration in 2020.
Crocs been collaborating with “Fornite” both in-game and IRL since 2023 as well, and the foam footwear brand launch its first Kicks drop in March.
Last month also saw the debut of the “GoldenEye 007″-inspired Air Max 1 “Big Head Mode” within “Fornite” before going on sale in real life.
