Man charged after allegedly killing robber during fight over bike in Queens
CORONA, Queens (PIX11) --- A man is accused of stabbing a robber to death during a fight over a bike on a Queens street Monday, police said.
Nelson Torres, 33, allegedly attacked 22-year-old Anderson Archila-Martinez when the victim tried to steal his bike near Junction Boulevard and Roosevelt Avenue in Corona at around 12:45 a.m., according to the NYPD.
Archila-Martinez was stabbed in the abdomen and rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
When police arrived, the suspect allegedly made statements about being tired of getting robbed, sources said.
Torres was arrested Monday and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
His arraignment was pending Tuesday.
