Moment bumbling Easter egg thief gets TRAPPED in Tesco & dramatically breaks down door to steal five chocolate treats

SHOCKING footage shows the moment a bumbling Easter egg thief broke down a door in Tesco after being trapped with his accomplice.

Jordon King, 28, admitted three counts of shop theft and was jailed for eight weeks after stealing £100 worth of Easter eggs in Nottinghamshire.

CCTV footage captured the crook entering Tesco Express on Alfreton Road in Radford on February 27, with an accomplice.

King is seen grabbing Easter eggs off the shelves before trying to run out the store with his arms full of chocolate goodies.

But the greedy crook runs straight into the front door which has now been locked.

King then tried to force open the glass door which was shut by security staff.

Eventually King places the six eggs on the floor while his fellow thief barges the door off its hinges multiple times.

His accomplice manages to squeeze himself outside after a number of attempts.

The crook then lifts the broken door up to allow King to escape with the stolen eggs.

Cops investigating the case discovered King had raided several supermarkets in Radford between February 27 and March 27.

As well as stealing Easter eggs, he also stole nappies and washing pods during his month-long crime spree.

King was identified from CCTV and arrested by officers from the Radford neighbourhood policing team after a tip-off from the public.

He also pleaded guilty to resisting an officer when he was arrested on the morning of March 27.

King, of no fixed address, further admitted to causing criminal damage to the Tesco Express at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on March 28.

King has been ordered to pay back the cost of the items stolen.

Nottinghamshire Police are still hunting for King’s accomplice.

Sergeant Matthew Leask, of Radford’s neighbourhood policing team, said: “Shoplifting is not a victimless crime and can have a significant impact on retailers both financially and emotionally.

“We take shoplifting very seriously and I am pleased we have been able to get a repeat offender like King off the streets.”

It comes as The Sun exposed how shoplifters are stripping shelves bare at Greggs — with staff powerless to respond.

Sun reporters saw dozens across the country walk off with bakes and sweet treats.

Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick slammed the “appalling criminality”.

The thefts by crooks with no fear of any consequences is the latest example of how law and order is falling apart in broken Britain.

Bakery chain Greggs has bouncers on the doors of some stores.
